Workshops & Class Suggestions

COVID - 19 MODIFICATIONS - ALL PRENATAL CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS ARE STILL AVAILABLE IN- PERSON OR VIRTUALLY.

If you would like to claim the class under your physiotherapy benefits, then a physiotherapy assessment must be completed before you attend your first class.  Click here to book for your assessment.

In-Person attendance is limited to 4 and virtual attendance is capped at 10.

If the maximum registration is not met (10 for virtual and 4 for in-person), then all classes are open to drop-in registration. 

Supplies needed: Yoga mat, comfortable workout pants, shirt, and hoodie.  In-person classes will require participants to bring their own props. If you do not have props, follow the suggested list provided for virtual participants.  If needed there are limited amounts of props that can be rented for the session for a nominal fee.  If you are attending a virtual class, here are some suggestions for home props: pillows, blankets (Mexican are the best), books, blocks, rolled towels, etc.

Pregnancy, Delivery and Postpartum Pelvic Floor and CORE Workshop

Stay fit during pregnancy while preparing for the changes that occur in the body during each trimester. This 3 hour session is open to both expectant mom’s and their partners at any stage of pregnancy. Leona will teach you how to stay fit, maintain an active pelvic floor, increase your endurance for the delivery, address aches and pains commonly felt during pregnancy, go through delivery positions helpful for preventing pelvic floor dysfunction and address proper care of the pelvic floor after the delivery.

Prenatal Pelvic Floor Yoga Therapy Group Class

Level 1 – Open to all Expecting moms
Level 2 – Must take Level 1 first
Level 3 – Must take Level 2 first

Class Duration: 60 minutes
Class Frequency and Length: 1x/week for 6 weeks

Prenatal Yoga is a great way to stay fit during pregnancy!  Pregnancy and delivery impact the function of the pelvic floor, surrounding CORE and breath.  Leona will guide you through movements that will minimize the impact on these tissues. In addition to the yoga poses, Leona will educate you on how to try and prevent aches and pains commonly felt during pregnancy, go through delivery positions helpful for preventing pelvic floor dysfunction and address proper care of the pelvic floor after your delivery. The session will run for 6 weeks and offer a variety of poses catered to each individual’s needs and stage of pregnancy.  All Level 1 participants will receive weekly electronic handouts and access to a summary instructional video after the last class.

NOTE: A minimum of 3 participants is required to run a class virtually or in-person.  In-person participation is limited to 4.
