Online Virtual Drop In Yoga Therapy Classes

Please Note:  inclusion in the online Yoga Therpy class requires you contact us to obtain the link to the doxy.me telemedicine online platform.  Currently Participants are limited to 10.  Unfortunately technology can be unpredictable and with a short class we will not be permitted to take much time to deal with glitches.

To minimize problems with Technology:

  • Check-in early to the Telemedicine platform.
  • Restart your computer before checking in.
  • Use Chrome or firefox as your webbrowser.
  • Minimize activity on your internet server when you are doing the class.
  • IOS users should use Safari 11 +.

Free Yoga Therapy Classes

Monday – Friday
Time: 12:15-12:45 pm (No Classes on April 10th and 13th)
Class Description: Each class will briefly review the components and anatomy of Diaphragmatic breathing, include a brief relaxation at the beginning of the class, a variety of yoga poses and postures, and 5 – 10 minutes of guided meditation at the end of the class.
Note: Beginner and up classes, will involve more modifications for the less mobile participant.

Mondays horizontal, hands and knees and siting postures on a mat.
Experience: Beginner and up.
Supplies: Mat, bolster or  2-3 pillows, blocks or books, 2 towels, blanket (preferrably mexican)

Tuesday – Strength, Balance and Flow postures.
Experienc: Previous yoga experience recommended.
Supplies: Mat, blocks or books, chair or a wall for balance support.

Wednesday – Chair yoga for those with difficulties getting down on the floor.
Experience: Beginner and up.
Supplies: 2-3 pillows, a firm chair, books, blocks or a stool for your feet, 1-2 towels.

Thursday – CORE and Abdominal yoga exercises.
Experience: Previous yoga experience recommended.
Supplies: Mat, a belt, 1-2 towels, 2 blocks or 2 books.

Friday – Neck and Shoulder Tension Relief.
Experience: Beginner and Up.
Supplies: Mat, 1 – 2 towels, an old sock stuffed with 2 partially deflated balls or cotton balls.


Strength and Balance 75 Minute Yoga Therapy Class

Class Description: This class will briefly review the components and anatomy of Diaphragmatic breathing and include a brief relaxation at the beginning of the class. The majority of the class will involve a guided flow in and out of horizontal and vertical positions and poses that will challenge breath control, strength and balance.  The class will finish with a 10 – 15 minute of guided meditation. 

Fee: $15/login (Note: 1/3 of your fee will go towards the Okotoks food bank or Rowan House).
Date: March 28, 2020 – TBD, Saturday Mornings 8:30 AM  – 9:45 AM (No class on April 11)
Experienc: Previous yoga experience is recommended.
Supplies: Mat, blocks or books, chair or a wall for balance support.


Restorative 75 Minute Yoga Therapy Class 

Class Description: The class will briefly review the components and anatomy of Diaphragmatic breathing, include a brief relaxation at the beginning of the class, a variety of yoga poses and postures in the horzontal, hands and knees and seated postions, modifications for the less mobile participants will be suggested and 10 -15 minutes of guided meditation is included at the end of the class.

Fee: $15/login (Note: 1/3 of your fee will go towards the Okotoks food bank or Rowan House).
Date: March 28, 2020 – TBD, Satuday Mornings: 10:00 AM – 11:15 AM (No class on April 11)
Experience: Beginner and up.
Supplies: Mat, bolster or  2-3 pillows, blocks or books, 2 towels, blanket (preferrably mexican)
